The project is made up of several photo exhibitions and of a day dedicated to the presentation of the activities by the local authorities in the Foyer and Terrace of the Bismantova Theatre.
In the outdoor foyer a music performance will take place aimed at bringing under 30 youngsters to the event; informative panels will be placed and flyers will be distributed to the audience.
During the event, the “PANGEA PHOTO FESTIVAL” will be presented, the festival has a photojournalistic mark with a focus on ethical aspects rather than the artistic ones. It is aimed at disseminating contents and stories through different visual arts like photography, videomaking and new media.
The main exhibitions will be 2:
- UNCUT (SDG5, SDG16): an in-depth investigation of the issue of female genital mutilation;
- OCCUPIED PLEASURES (SDG 5, SDG 11, SDG 16) this exhibition explores the rare moments of truce and pleasure in the lives of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.
The other exhibitions will have the following titles and focus:
- FIVE DEGREES: an investigation on the increase in suicides among Indian farmers because of climate change;
- FULANI DISPLACED: ethnic and social tensions between tribes in Mali, Africa;
- INDEX G: this exhibition focuses on the social condition and difficulties of the Afro-American community in St. Louis, using the perspective of the GINI index, a statistical measure used to indicate inequalities and racial segregation;
- MY STAR WARS FAMILY: the story of a family and their daily work to help their autistic daughter.
The overall goal of the initiative is therefore to make the public and the population aware of the proposed themes, which are little known and not very widespread in the local/national media.
