SDG 11 - Sustainable cities and communities

The main goals of this project are awareness raising about integration, social inclusion and gender equality in Castelfranco’s community, in addition to spread the knowledge of the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda, particularly on SDG11, SDG16and SDG 5.

The activities are organized starting from a reflection on the different meanings of feeling stranger. Some possible reasons could be because of not belong to a certain community, because of not knowing a language, because of being marginalized, because of being labelled, because of being relegated to a category, etc. With this project it will be possible to involve different realities of civil society, both associative and individual, with the aim of building bridges between different cultures and traditions, which still appear divided and sometimes in contrast to each other despite decades of coexistence in the same territory.

Starting from the idea of "feeling stranger" considered in a broad sense and with the aim of deepening its many aspects through theatre and cinema meanings, the following initiatives are planned:

theatrical performances;
a conference at the opening of an exhibition of comics created by a Tunisian graphic journalist;
the presentation of a book written by a young Italian Moroccan law student on the theme of second-generation citizens;
a documentary built of different clips filmed during all the scheduled meetings and events, which in various forms will address issues such as immigration, xenophobia, racism, fear of the different.

Some meetings to share and promote the project will be organized before each theatrical performance, both in the city and in the hamlets, where citizens will be informed about the the activities which will be carried out with their collaboration. The meetings will be filmed and will provide fundamental materials for the realization of the documentary that will be screened at the end of all activities.
