“Orticelli Ribelli and Giardini Resistenti” is a project based on three main topics: environmental education, gender education and communication, which is born in a territory where people are hugely involved in their urban context and a lot of associations and volunteers group act, with the goal of creating a close, sustainable and inclusive society supported by the local institutions.
At about 15 class attending the “Istituto Comprensivo Dossetti” will be trained through an accurate environmental education trying to set upstanding daily routines. Lessons and laboratories will be organized to create schools’ vegetables gardens to disseminate the idea of fighting the climate change through the spread of local food cultivation with the aim of connecting the local dimension to the global one.
Gender education and the promotion of female emancipation will be pursued through a path aimed at making children analyze the lives and exploits of valiant women often forgotten or ignored by history. Following by the book idea of Serena Dandini “Roseto delle donne valorose” a rose garden will be designed and realized.
A festival entitled "Orticelli Ribelli - Festa dei piccoli orti e dei giardini rivoluzionari (Festival of small vegetable gardens and revolutionary gardens) will cloto disseminate the results and share them with the whole community, will be organized in which, through meetings, workshops and shows, the objectives of the project will be disseminated and the results of the educational activities will be presented.
As a final impact, an increase in awareness and knowledge, the assumption of responsibility, but also an understanding of the potential of one's daily actions, in the first and foremost children, and the whole community, both regarding climate change and on the front, are hoped for. gender education. Equality, sharing, courage and respect will be promoted in a new knowledge and a new cultural attitude, which is metaphorically and practically cultivated through the rose garden.
