Foreningernes Hus Vejle: The house for associations, volunteering, self-help and disability.
Foreningernes Hus Vejle is a merger between Vejle Handicap Center and Frivilligcenter og Selvhjælp Vejle. We are an independent association that facilitates and makes visible the voluntary social work in Vejle and the surrounding area and offers premises and other help to associations and clubs.
We function as a common house for the voluntary social associations and as a meeting place for people with physical disabilities. We are politically and religiously neutral. We have a duty of confidentiality and do not make any registration.
We collaborate with many other associations and organizations, both locally and nationally, as well as with the public sector.
We are 70 skilled and committed volunteers who, together with one full-time employee and 4 part-time employees, take care of the association's activities and offers.
There are over 60 member associations affiliated.
The board has the overall responsibility and constitutes the association's management together with the general manager. The general meeting is the supreme authority, while the chairman has the day-to-day responsibility.
Mission
Foreningernes Hus Vejle Contributes to Quality of Life and Community on a voluntary basis:
- Offer interpersonal conversations and self-help groups to people who want support in dealing with their own life situation.
- Offer a good physical and practical framework for voluntary, social associations to carry out their activities.
- Offer opportunities for people with disabilities to come together for social activities.
- Develop and run activities that offer support for selected tasks for specific target groups.
Vision
Foreningernes Hus Vejle will be an Indispensable partner for voluntary, social associations, for people in need of human support and for municipalities and other organizations working with the same target groups, throughout Vejle Municipality. At the same time, Foreningernes Hus will be a unique workplace where volunteers and employees thrive and use their abilities and competencies for the benefit of others and for themselves.
We will achieve the vision by:
- Working actively for and take the initiative for networks and cooperation between associations, volunteers, the business community and with public institutions.
- Maintaining and developing a positive and warm atmosphere, where volunteers, employees and users are seen, heard and understood, and where the tasks are lifted together.
- Building a clear and simple organization - and a clear form of communication.
- Constantly developing and renewing the cafe's offerings to suit users' wishes and needs.
- Developing targeted activities for current and future members and users of the house, as well as provide the means to bring them to life through collaboration with foundations, business and other stakeholders.
- Making the House of Associations visible through the website, Facebook, press work - and by showing the house on all given occasions.

- People in focus: the House of Associations are the people who come into the house as users, volunteers and employees. That is why we meet all people equally, welcoming, in solidarity and tolerantly. We create a good atmosphere and we listen and do what we can to support and develop.
- Seriousness and responsibility: we take all tasks and inquiries seriously and aim for the highest quality level. All people in Foreningernes Hus take responsibility for each other and for the house.
- Openness and credibility: in Foreningernes Hus, we communicate openly and credibly. We do what we say - and say what we do.
- Independent: at Foreningernes Hus, we are constantly working to preserve independence, because we believe that it benefits our target groups.
Business collaboration and sponsorships
We are constantly trying to establish mutually enriching partnerships and develop new forms of cooperation.
For us, the starting point for business collaboration is that you as an association and company work together to create a common value - which makes sense both for the company and for us.
Sponsorships can make a big difference to the opportunities of our work over the course of a year and we actively seek where it makes sense. The sponsorships can be in the form of financial grants, good discounts, know-how, employee hours and much more.
We make visible in different ways which companies, lodges and others we collaborate with.
